What do the René and Style wigs have in common?

 

While the René and Style wigs are very different, they have some features in common. 

 

Both the René and the Style wig can achieve natural-looking volume. While the volume won’t match Dolly Parton’s, your hair will have some body, instead of a sleeker, Jennifer Aniston look.  

 

They come in the same sixteen colors, ranging from shades of blonde to rich brown tones. Both wigs are made from 100% human hair, so they can be treated like biological hair. They can handle being colored and can endure heat tools. However, because the hair doesn’t naturally regenerate, heat and color will decrease the lifespan of your wig. Both wigs will thrive and last for at least two years if you are diligent about caring for your Daniel Alain wig. 

 

When purchasing your wig, it is important to ensure the cap fits well. Over time, the cap will lose tautness, just like a bra does. The wig caps on both wigs feature elastics to tighten the cap as it naturally loosens. Properly fitting caps ensure the wig will stay put for everyday use.

 

Now, let’s get into what makes these two types of wigs different from one another. 

 

The René Wig 

The René wig is a perfect introduction to wigs for a first-time buyer, or anyone new to Daniel Alain. The unique cap construction and the blend of human hair allow for maximum versatility.

The Cap

 

Each of our human hair wigs has three separate parts, the front, the back, and the sides, which are then sewn together. Each cap also has a lace front to create a natural hairline. The René cap is completely made of lace. The top of the cap is hand-tied while the back and sides are machine-made and feature wefting. 

Wefting is tracks of hair sewn onto material. Hair is sewn onto a strip. That strip is sewn onto the back of the wig, with about a centimeter of space between the tracks. 

 

If you look closely at the top of a René cap, you’ll be able to see the lace top. The lace top on the René allows for more volume and return hairs, which are the equivalent of fly-aways, creating a more voluminous, natural look. 

Type of Hair

 

Although the René and the Style have the same hair density, the René wig may seem denser. The hair on the René cap is called World Select hair. Our World Select hair is a blend of Indian and Chinese hair. The thickness and coarseness of the hair make the wig look fuller and allow it to retain more texture.  While still soft and silky, the hair's texture gives the wig more lift and body. It also allows the wig to hold a curl more effectively because of the natural texture associated with the type of hair.

Lengths

 

The René comes in four lengths. All Daniel Alain wigs are layered, so when you are choosing a wig, keep in mind that the length listed is the length of the shortest layer. To determine the length of the longest layer in a René wig, simply add five inches to the original number. The René comes in 10, 12, 14, and 16-inch lengths. 

Limitations 

 

All of our wigs can be styled the same as biological hair. However, if you pull hair back tightly, like into a ponytail, it can expose the wefting. When styling your René, we recommend looser hairstyles and lower ponytails. 

 

What Makes The Style Wig Unique?

The Style wig sits at a higher price point than the entry-level René wig. Below are key differences that demonstrate the price jump. 

The Cap

 

The Style wig has a lace front that comes down further in the front than on the René.  Rather than sitting only on the top hairline, the Style’s hairline comes down on the sides, reaching from temple to temple. 

 

If you have a lower hairline, the Style may get in the way and create a less natural look. If your face is more on the narrow side, the temple to temple lace front may not lay as flush to the skin. 

 

The cap itself is 100% hand-tied with a skin top. A layer of monofilament on the top of the wig mimics the appearance of a scalp.  If you part the hair on the Style wig, it looks like a real scalp.  The combination of monofilament and lace lining creates a voluminous skin top, allowing for lift at the root. This construction also gives the cap a softer feel. 

Type of Hair

 

The Style wig is made from fine European hair, which makes the wig feel lighter. This allows for the hair to move even more naturally than the René’s. Despite having the same hair density, it also does not appear as full as the René because of the hair's fineness. 

Lengths

 

The Style comes in six lengths: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16- inches. To determine the longest layer of a Style wig, add five inches to your desired length. 

Limitations

 

Because it is made with fine European hair, the Style may not hold different hairstyles as effectively as the René would. For example, it may be harder for this wig style to hold a curly hairdo.
