SUPPORTING YOU EVERY STEP OF YOUR JOURNEY

Follea Friend, Hannah! Say ‘hello!’

Hi, my name is Hannah. I am 25 from Edinburgh, Scotland. I am a full-time single mum to my beautiful 5-year-old daughter, and I also hold a part-time job in Costa.

When did you get your first Follea?

I first experienced Follea in August 2014, by participating in the Pretty Bald Calendar, which Follea kindly sponsored.

What’s your morning routine?

My morning routine starts off with an “extra five minutes” in bed for cuddles with my daughter (though it usually lasts a little longer)! I then make her breakfast and have a quick shower – one positive of having Alopecia is not having to do my hair! I then make myself a cup of tea, get my daughter ready and start my make up. Cup of tea in hand, I then decide if it’s a “hair or no hair day” while putting my clothes on. If I’m working that day, I prefer to wear my Follea, as it is a lot more comfortable, and is just an extra five minutes in the morning to straighten and style my wig.

How would you describe your style?

My style varies: from comfy days, to wearing day dresses to some evenings wearing heels and looking smart! I love the vintage style, and I am a big fan of onesies and hoodies.

What does the majority of your day consist of?

I am always on the go during the day, whether it’s working, appointments, catching up with friends or taking my daughter places. It’s rare when I’m free to have a “house day.”

What do you do for fun?

I like to do lots of different things with my daughter for fun. We take trips to the beach, the park or explore new places. I also like to socialize with friends over a few drinks or coffee! But I definitely like having new adventures more often now that I have my Follea.

What’s your current go-to hairstyle?

My current hairstyle is plaited pigtails. It’s quick, easy and really good for work. Also, it leaves a pretty, textured style when you take them out!

Describe your idea of a relaxing evening.

A relaxing evening is with my Yankee candle burning and a glass of wine or a mug of herbal tea while cuddled up with my boyfriend watching a film or rubbish TV. A clean house also relaxes me!

Who inspires you?

My mum. She’s always encouraged me to chase my dreams, no matter what life throws at you. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. She is honestly amazing, and I couldn’t ask for a better role model for my daughter and myself.

What’s your advice to anyone looking for hair solutions?

There are lots of different types of hair solutions. Find a hairdresser you can trust, and they are fantastic with advice on what you can do. Never think you are alone, and certainly never think there isn’t a solution for you. Also don’t be embarrassed, you aren’t the first person to come to them for help.
